A WordPress child theme made easy… and easier

On a previous post I stated that it was very easy to create a WordPress child theme from an existing theme.

We also saw on that post that a child theme is a perfect solution to ensure that your modifications to the theme will never get lost after a parent theme update, no matter how heavy your customizations are.

On that post we didn´t get into the details of creating a child theme. As I said, there are lots of great posts explaining how to create a child theme. Just in case you´ve missed any of them so far, I´ve decided to write my own tutorial. And I´ll do it insisting on how easy it is.

That said, if you already know how to create a WordPress child theme, I don´t think you will learn anything new here. On the other hand, if you are not familiar with child themes, I hope this post will clarify concepts for you and will leave you itching to create your first child theme right now.
