Is it possible to escape the casual teaching trap?
I was a sessional lecturer for 11 years. While some of that time it suited me to be free and easy, eventually the lack of secure employment started to grate. I was not eligible for a mortgage and I started to resent the full time lecturers for their travel budgets, superannuation and ability to take holidays at will.
